A 1990s band logo, press-separated in 8 hours.

Harbor Tees needed a 4-color screen print from a phone photo of a 30-year-old band tee — no vector source. VectorWiz re-illustrated the mark from scratch, separated it for a 4-station press with underbase and choke/spread, and delivered in 8 hours with zero press reworks.

The job

Harbor Tees needed a 4-color screen print of a 1990s band logo, run on a 4-station press onto black garments. It was a Tier 4 screen-printing job with the artwork only living on the shirts themselves.

The problem with the source

There was no vector source — just a phone photo of a worn, 30-year-old printed tee. A snapshot of faded ink on fabric carries no clean edges to trace and no separable colors, so it can't be ripped to film as-is. The mark had to be rebuilt before it could ever reach a screen.

What we did

We re-illustrated the logo from scratch as true vector art, then separated it for the 4-station press. Because the print lands on black garments, the separation includes an underbase to make the colors read, plus choke and spread on the spot colors so the four screens trap correctly instead of leaving gaps or halos at the edges.

The production result

From the phone photo to delivery took 8 hours: a re-illustrated mark, fully press-separated into four spot colors with underbase and choke/spread dialed for black garments. It ran with zero press reworks — no re-burning screens, no registration chase.
