Convert PNG to DXF that actually cuts.

Trace it free below to see where auto-trace breaks — then let a human deliver closed-path, kerf-aware DXF your laser or router runs without errors.

The short answer

You can convert a PNG to DXF free with our instant tracer — but auto-trace leaves open paths, doubled lines and stray nodes that a cutter can't run. For laser, CNC or plasma, a human redraw delivers closed, single, kerf-aware paths in 24 hours, guaranteed to cut clean.

Why the free trace isn't enough

A PNG has no paths. A cutter needs nothing but.

A PNG stores pixels. Auto-trace guesses an outline by following the boundary between light and dark — so a slightly soft or compressed edge becomes a jagged chain of hundreds of points, and every shape is traced as a thin open outline rather than a solid closed contour.

Your laser or router can't run that. It needs closed paths (so the cut starts and ends), single lines (so it doesn't double-cut and scorch), and ideally a kerf offset sized to your beam or bit. We rebuild the geometry by hand to satisfy all three — then deliver native DXF plus SVG.

We rebuild the paths

A human redraws closed, single contours and sets your kerf and tool offset.

Cut-ready DXF in 24h

You get native DXF + SVG, layered per operation, guaranteed to cut clean.

PNG to DXF questions

Before you send it to the bed.

Can I convert a PNG to DXF for free?

Yes — the instant tracer above does it free. It works for simple high-contrast shapes, but auto-trace leaves open paths and stray nodes, so production cutting usually needs a human redraw.

Why won't an auto-traced DXF cut cleanly?

Auto-trace produces open paths, doubled lines and thousands of nodes from PNG edge noise. A cutter needs closed, single, kerf-aware paths — a human rebuild resolves all three.

Do you compensate for kerf?

We deliver clean closed-path geometry and can offset for your kerf and tool diameter on request, so parts come off the bed at the intended dimension.

How fast is a human redraw?

24 hours standard, 12-hour rush available, with a 100% remake guarantee if it doesn't cut clean.
